Mr. Thompson looked out of the window and sighed. The sky was grey and heavy rain was falling. The garden was full of puddles, and the wind was blowing the leaves off the trees. His children were sitting inside, looking bored. They had planned to go to the beach today. 'Can we watch a film instead, Dad?' asked his daughter Emily. 'I want to watch the one about the princess,' said his younger son, Jake. Mr. Thompson smiled and went to the kitchen to make hot chocolate for everyone. He put extra marshmallows in Jake's cup because he knew it was his favourite. By the afternoon, the rain had stopped and a rainbow appeared in the sky. The children ran outside and jumped in the puddles. Mrs. Thompson laughed and took photographs. 'Maybe we can go to the beach next weekend,' she said.
